...an eight-day, family-oriented arts and music festival in Wytheville VA begins the third Saturday in June each year. The week-long festivities are held in and around Elizabeth Brown Park, just a few blocks south of the heart of Downtown, at largely no cost to the festival goer. In its thirty-second year, it has become an event anticipated by people locally and across the region.
Hot Air Balloon Glow
The Festival kicks off with a preview the night before the official opening with a Hot Air Balloon Glow on the front lawn at Wytheville Community College. Several of the pilots/owners will illuminate their crafts against the night sky using massive propane burners. Families gather on the surrounding hills to witness this spectacle and snap photos. A special treat might include getting invited onto the field to meet and greet with the pilots!

Chautauqua Parade
Weather permitting, the first flight of the Hot Air Balloon Rally starts off the day at 6 AM Saturday morning. The Festival then officially starts at 10 AM with a parade down Main Street with floats, antique cars, bands, and beauty queens.

Each day brings different activities with art displays, photography exhibits, a craft bazaar, 5K race, workshops and more. Park visitors will also enjoy the various musicians, actors, clowns with balloons performing throughout the park and on the stages, and of course everyone's favorite-----FOOD! .
